PFT (Spirometry)

The primary reason for conducting a PFT is to evaluate the respiratory system and diagnose or monitor lung disease. The test is non-invasive, and it involves breathing into a mouthpiece attached to a machine that records your breathing patterns. Your doctor may recommend a PFT if you have symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, wheezing, or chest tightness. PFTs are also commonly used to assess lung function before and after surgery or to evaluate the effects of medication on lung function.
